Cardinals Tickets

Chris and I have 4 Cardinals tickets for tomorrow night's game (tomorrow being Friday). We are trying to figure out who we should invite with us to go. So if you are at all interested, leave a comment and tell us why we should pick you over anyone else who is wanting to go. Sorry for the late notice, it kind of crept up on us.

My First Day of School

So as most of you already know, I decided to go back to school. Yesterday was my first day and I was so excited but nervous to start. I left my house at about 6:30 so I could make it early to my first class at 7:30. Luckily traffic wasn't too bad so I made it with plenty of time. I found my class very easily and when I walked into the room there was no one there. I looked at my schedule to double check the time and class room and everything looked right...I was so confused. So I walked back out and there was a sign on the door that had all the classes listed. So I scrolled through and found my class. I looked at all the details and right there, staring right at me, was a big fat PM. Yes, I am that RETARDED!! I swore when I initially registered for the class, it was first thing in the morning. I don't know how I overlooked it. I was so mad and feeling like I was just ready to cry before anything had even started. I guess the more I think about it, the more I think it was meant to be. If I would have known how much time was between classes, I probably would not have done it and delayed even being able to apply for the nursing program. So now I have a 6 hour gap between classes on Thursdays and about 3 on Tuesdays. I think it will just give me time that I have nothing else to do but study...it will really be a blessing in disguise I hope. So I ran a few errands and met Chris for breakfast burritos. So it ended up not being a total waste of a morning.

My first class is Chemistry. Nothing too exciting happened in there. I worked on some homework during my break and got a good amount done. Luckily there is a Target just about a mile or 2 from campus so I walked around there for a bit to kill some time. Finally at 7:30PM I went back to my "first" class, Anatomy and Physiology. I walked in and started looking around for somewhere to sit, and a very friendly girl waved me over to sit with her. She introduced herself as Tiffany and told me that she hadn't been to school in about 9 years and she was wanting to get into the nursing program. I was so excited to meet her, as I am in about the same situation. She is super sweet and I found myself instantly liking her and really clicking. I hope to be able to stay close with her and help each other get through this class and hopefully get into the nursing program together. I'm feeling nervous about being able to keep up with everything but Chris was able to give me a blessing the night before so I know I will have the Lord on my side and hopefully all will go well. I am so grateful to have the Priesthood in my home and to be able to take advantages of the many blessings it offers.

Today Chris surprised my with a "going back to school present". He bought me a new laptop so I can have it for school work. I had mentioned that I would like to maybe get one in the next few weeks so he just jumped on the opportunity and got it now. It will be so nice to have especially during my HUGE break. Thanks Babaloo for being so supportive and buying me such a GREAT present! I love it and know it will be a wonderful blessing in the coming months.

Here is a picture of me showing off my new present.

Youth Conference

Chris and I spent this past weekend at youth conference. We had such a great time hangin' out with the Youth! We all met up on Thursday night. The conference was a medieval theme so we were all separated into 4 teams to compete against one another. We were the leaders of the red team aka Lions of the Phoenix Zoo. We spent the whole weekend doing activities to gain points. At each meal, the team with the lowest score had to eat a special meal...or rather, a very un-special meal. Lunch and dinner for the losing teams was canned chicken and crackers and breakfast was plain oatmeal with no sugar or anything. Luckily, the only "bad" meal our team had was breakfast. I happen to like plain oatmeal, as long as I can have some milk on it. On Friday morning we had a few classes then went ice skating. It was a nice way to spend a hot summer day. Saturday we did a service project pulling weeds at an organic garden at the U of A farms followed by mud football and later swimming. That evening, there was a special program followed by a fireside with our stake president. We had such a great time and are excited to be planning our stake youth conference in November.

Here we are showing our team colors...GO LIONS OF THE PHOENIX ZOO!!!And here's one of me looking SO cute! Here's the group getting ready to go ice skating. Here's Chris and I showing off our sweet moves.
This is our team on the last night waiting for Dinner.

Mom's New Do!!

Today, I was at work and my mom texted me that she had been watching Oprah. I guess they had hair stylists to the stars on the show doing hair for 100 people in the audience. She all of a sudden had the desire to get her hair done before her Vegas trip on Friday. Mind you that is was already 4:00 or 5:00 in the afternoon and she knew that I was going to be at youth conference starting tomorrow. I was going to be working till late but luckily for her, I'm a softie. I told her to come on over after work and I would color and cut her hair for her tonight so she would look so stunning in Vegas. I offered for her to come over and spend the night, hoping that she would say "no thanks". For as long as I can remember, my mom has never been able to spend the night away from my dad. We used to plan girls night out/slumber parties with my sisters and mom. Every time, she would start out so strong and promise to stay the whole time. But without fail, by no later than midnight, she would be on her way home to be with my dad. My dad would even sometimes come to pick her up!!! So I thought by offering, I would look like a good daughter and not have to do anything. What I didn't know was that she would call my bluff. So she came over and being the amazing daughter that I am, I made her hair beautiful. Here's a picture of me cutting her new do. She loves it!!! And if I may say so myself, she looks quite fetching. :)

Hidden Gun

Last week Chris asked me how I would feel if he told me that he had been keeping a secret from me for a year. I instantly knew that there was something going on and felt a little alarmed. So I asked him it would depend on what kind of secret. He told me he had made a purchase and didn't want me to freak out so didn't tell me about it. I finally convinced him to tell me and it turns out that he bought a gun without my knowing!! Not only did he keep it a secret from me but he hid it somewhere in the house where he could easily access it if he needed to. Now I have no problem with having guns in the house, I enjoy going out shooting with Chris and was taught gun safety early on from my dad. But part of that is knowing that my guns are locked up! I freak out thinking that we could have someone break into our home and find our guns and use them against us. Maybe that's me being paranoid but that freaks me out. Eventually when we have kids, that will add to the worry of having unlocked guns. So now I had to know where it was, and although I'm not going to share that with the blogging world, I can tell you that it has been right under my nose this whole time. I probably pass right by it several times a day and have had no idea! I guess because it is so well hidden, I will let him keep it there.

After all of this was out in the open and he knew I was sort of ok with it, the story continued. A few weeks ago, my sister Sarah and her husband Jon were here. Jon had just bought a new gun so brought it over to show us. I was in the kitchen cooking while he and Jon were bonding, examining their guns. Chris decided to tell him about the secret gun. I couldn't believe that he told someone else before I knew. While I was ranting about not being the first to know, he looked at me with that sheepish smile of his and started listing off the people who already knew about it. Mike Turner, you were one of them...I thought we were friends, traitor! I can't believe how many people knew about this secret gun and I had no idea.

While this is all still settling in, Chris starts to chuckle and decides its now time to insult me! "Don't you remember me talking about wanting a .45 for like a month, and then all of a sudden I totally stopped talking about it?!" No I don't remember, you talk about a lot of things that you want that I have to say no to. Here I am, staying so calm upon finding out about this huge secret, and he goes on to insult me. I couldn't freaking believe it. I am still shocked about the whole thing. I totally thought he was just joking when he first started telling me. He told me where to look and I thought I was just going on some sort of wild goose chase. But lo and behold, it was exactly where he said it would be. I'm still in awe that he kept it from me for so long.

So my question to you, is how many of you knew about this before I did? How many of my friends are traitors like Mike? No I wont be mad at you for telling me, I have forgiven Chris, right? I really just wanna know who can keep my secrets the best, for future reference.

Team McRae!

So the decision is final. I started a new blog for "real" pictures of Chris and I. I didn't want to continue corrupting the DoggBlogg with mine and Chris's face all over it. I hope this makes you happy, Jen. I can't believe I'm giving into yet another thing!! Enjoy.

Just a preview of whats to come....

Chris and I spent the weekend in Pinedale at the McRae Family reunion. This is just a taste of what is to come...I hope you enjoy and that this holds you over till I post the rest of everything that I have. Also, there will once again be real pics of us. I may need to start another blog for the real pics and keep this one just for the dogs and when I'm feeling more creative. There are just too many good ones that I want to share with you all. I will need to ponder that idea for a few days and I'll get back to you on that one. You may be asking "why not just do that on the one that Chris started?" Chris specifically told me that his blog is for projects and other rants. Plus, I'm a little bit of a control freak and want to have full control of everything that is posted. So for all you dogg blogg haters out there, just be patient...I'll probably give into you on that too!! This picture is of Chris, Uncle Kenny, TJ and Gary. Gary looks like he is getting too frisky with TJ but the scary thing is that TJ seems to be enjoying it!!!
