Sunday Morning Breakfast

Because today was conference, I decided to make a special breakfast for Chris and I. We had some Texas toast so I made some DELICIOUS french toast. We topped it off with strawberries and whipped cream. I couldn't have asked for anything better...YUM!!!

Here I am cooking it up

Doesn't it look so tasty?!

Chris liked it so much that he licked his plate clean!!....

....it ended up all over his face. What a mess!!

Cardinals Tickets

Chris and I have 4 Cardinals tickets for tomorrow night's game (tomorrow being Friday). We are trying to figure out who we should invite with us to go. So if you are at all interested, leave a comment and tell us why we should pick you over anyone else who is wanting to go. Sorry for the late notice, it kind of crept up on us.

My First Day of School

So as most of you already know, I decided to go back to school. Yesterday was my first day and I was so excited but nervous to start. I left my house at about 6:30 so I could make it early to my first class at 7:30. Luckily traffic wasn't too bad so I made it with plenty of time. I found my class very easily and when I walked into the room there was no one there. I looked at my schedule to double check the time and class room and everything looked right...I was so confused. So I walked back out and there was a sign on the door that had all the classes listed. So I scrolled through and found my class. I looked at all the details and right there, staring right at me, was a big fat PM. Yes, I am that RETARDED!! I swore when I initially registered for the class, it was first thing in the morning. I don't know how I overlooked it. I was so mad and feeling like I was just ready to cry before anything had even started. I guess the more I think about it, the more I think it was meant to be. If I would have known how much time was between classes, I probably would not have done it and delayed even being able to apply for the nursing program. So now I have a 6 hour gap between classes on Thursdays and about 3 on Tuesdays. I think it will just give me time that I have nothing else to do but study...it will really be a blessing in disguise I hope. So I ran a few errands and met Chris for breakfast burritos. So it ended up not being a total waste of a morning.

My first class is Chemistry. Nothing too exciting happened in there. I worked on some homework during my break and got a good amount done. Luckily there is a Target just about a mile or 2 from campus so I walked around there for a bit to kill some time. Finally at 7:30PM I went back to my "first" class, Anatomy and Physiology. I walked in and started looking around for somewhere to sit, and a very friendly girl waved me over to sit with her. She introduced herself as Tiffany and told me that she hadn't been to school in about 9 years and she was wanting to get into the nursing program. I was so excited to meet her, as I am in about the same situation. She is super sweet and I found myself instantly liking her and really clicking. I hope to be able to stay close with her and help each other get through this class and hopefully get into the nursing program together. I'm feeling nervous about being able to keep up with everything but Chris was able to give me a blessing the night before so I know I will have the Lord on my side and hopefully all will go well. I am so grateful to have the Priesthood in my home and to be able to take advantages of the many blessings it offers.

Today Chris surprised my with a "going back to school present". He bought me a new laptop so I can have it for school work. I had mentioned that I would like to maybe get one in the next few weeks so he just jumped on the opportunity and got it now. It will be so nice to have especially during my HUGE break. Thanks Babaloo for being so supportive and buying me such a GREAT present! I love it and know it will be a wonderful blessing in the coming months.

Here is a picture of me showing off my new present.

Youth Conference

Chris and I spent this past weekend at youth conference. We had such a great time hangin' out with the Youth! We all met up on Thursday night. The conference was a medieval theme so we were all separated into 4 teams to compete against one another. We were the leaders of the red team aka Lions of the Phoenix Zoo. We spent the whole weekend doing activities to gain points. At each meal, the team with the lowest score had to eat a special meal...or rather, a very un-special meal. Lunch and dinner for the losing teams was canned chicken and crackers and breakfast was plain oatmeal with no sugar or anything. Luckily, the only "bad" meal our team had was breakfast. I happen to like plain oatmeal, as long as I can have some milk on it. On Friday morning we had a few classes then went ice skating. It was a nice way to spend a hot summer day. Saturday we did a service project pulling weeds at an organic garden at the U of A farms followed by mud football and later swimming. That evening, there was a special program followed by a fireside with our stake president. We had such a great time and are excited to be planning our stake youth conference in November.

Here we are showing our team colors...GO LIONS OF THE PHOENIX ZOO!!!And here's one of me looking SO cute! Here's the group getting ready to go ice skating. Here's Chris and I showing off our sweet moves.
This is our team on the last night waiting for Dinner.

Mom's New Do!!

Today, I was at work and my mom texted me that she had been watching Oprah. I guess they had hair stylists to the stars on the show doing hair for 100 people in the audience. She all of a sudden had the desire to get her hair done before her Vegas trip on Friday. Mind you that is was already 4:00 or 5:00 in the afternoon and she knew that I was going to be at youth conference starting tomorrow. I was going to be working till late but luckily for her, I'm a softie. I told her to come on over after work and I would color and cut her hair for her tonight so she would look so stunning in Vegas. I offered for her to come over and spend the night, hoping that she would say "no thanks". For as long as I can remember, my mom has never been able to spend the night away from my dad. We used to plan girls night out/slumber parties with my sisters and mom. Every time, she would start out so strong and promise to stay the whole time. But without fail, by no later than midnight, she would be on her way home to be with my dad. My dad would even sometimes come to pick her up!!! So I thought by offering, I would look like a good daughter and not have to do anything. What I didn't know was that she would call my bluff. So she came over and being the amazing daughter that I am, I made her hair beautiful. Here's a picture of me cutting her new do. She loves it!!! And if I may say so myself, she looks quite fetching. :)

Hidden Gun

Last week Chris asked me how I would feel if he told me that he had been keeping a secret from me for a year. I instantly knew that there was something going on and felt a little alarmed. So I asked him it would depend on what kind of secret. He told me he had made a purchase and didn't want me to freak out so didn't tell me about it. I finally convinced him to tell me and it turns out that he bought a gun without my knowing!! Not only did he keep it a secret from me but he hid it somewhere in the house where he could easily access it if he needed to. Now I have no problem with having guns in the house, I enjoy going out shooting with Chris and was taught gun safety early on from my dad. But part of that is knowing that my guns are locked up! I freak out thinking that we could have someone break into our home and find our guns and use them against us. Maybe that's me being paranoid but that freaks me out. Eventually when we have kids, that will add to the worry of having unlocked guns. So now I had to know where it was, and although I'm not going to share that with the blogging world, I can tell you that it has been right under my nose this whole time. I probably pass right by it several times a day and have had no idea! I guess because it is so well hidden, I will let him keep it there.

After all of this was out in the open and he knew I was sort of ok with it, the story continued. A few weeks ago, my sister Sarah and her husband Jon were here. Jon had just bought a new gun so brought it over to show us. I was in the kitchen cooking while he and Jon were bonding, examining their guns. Chris decided to tell him about the secret gun. I couldn't believe that he told someone else before I knew. While I was ranting about not being the first to know, he looked at me with that sheepish smile of his and started listing off the people who already knew about it. Mike Turner, you were one of them...I thought we were friends, traitor! I can't believe how many people knew about this secret gun and I had no idea.

While this is all still settling in, Chris starts to chuckle and decides its now time to insult me! "Don't you remember me talking about wanting a .45 for like a month, and then all of a sudden I totally stopped talking about it?!" No I don't remember, you talk about a lot of things that you want that I have to say no to. Here I am, staying so calm upon finding out about this huge secret, and he goes on to insult me. I couldn't freaking believe it. I am still shocked about the whole thing. I totally thought he was just joking when he first started telling me. He told me where to look and I thought I was just going on some sort of wild goose chase. But lo and behold, it was exactly where he said it would be. I'm still in awe that he kept it from me for so long.

So my question to you, is how many of you knew about this before I did? How many of my friends are traitors like Mike? No I wont be mad at you for telling me, I have forgiven Chris, right? I really just wanna know who can keep my secrets the best, for future reference.

Here is Chris showing off his new gun for the camera.

Team McRae!

So the decision is final. I started a new blog for "real" pictures of Chris and I. I didn't want to continue corrupting the DoggBlogg with mine and Chris's face all over it. I hope this makes you happy, Jen. I can't believe I'm giving into yet another thing!! Enjoy.

Just a preview of whats to come....

Chris and I spent the weekend in Pinedale at the McRae Family reunion. This is just a taste of what is to come...I hope you enjoy and that this holds you over till I post the rest of everything that I have. Also, there will once again be real pics of us. I may need to start another blog for the real pics and keep this one just for the dogs and when I'm feeling more creative. There are just too many good ones that I want to share with you all. I will need to ponder that idea for a few days and I'll get back to you on that one. You may be asking "why not just do that on the one that Chris started?" Chris specifically told me that his blog is for projects and other rants. Plus, I'm a little bit of a control freak and want to have full control of everything that is posted. So for all you dogg blogg haters out there, just be patient...I'll probably give into you on that too!! This picture is of Chris, Uncle Kenny, TJ and Gary. Gary looks like he is getting too frisky with TJ but the scary thing is that TJ seems to be enjoying it!!!

Just For Fun!!

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot...anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty cool (and funny) to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. :)

Blogs, Blogs, Everywhere

So on Friday night, Chris went up to scout camp for the night leaving me all alone. So rather than being bored at home, I called up my wonderful sister, Theresa, and went to her house to crash her girls night with Christi. After I got there, Theresa told Christi that she needed to check out my new blog. Well one thing led to another and before they knew what was coming for them, I talked them into starting blogs themselves. I mostly felt like I needed to help my friend list grow, I don't have enough on here yet. So rather than going swimming like they had planned, we spent the whole night blogging. We had a fabulous night hangin' out and laughing. Thanks so much girls for fun night and keeping me from being lonely...(don't tell Chris that I ended up not really missing him too much. And Chris if you are reading this, I'm totally just kidding.) Sorry, no pics of that night. I need to get used to being a blogger and taking more pictures when I go out. I guess you will just have to check out their blogs to see the fruits of our labor.

So then today, as I was driving home, I convinced my mom that she too needed to join the wonderful world of blogging. And once again, another one bites the dust. I figure that I was able to resist for such a long time that now, if I'm going down, I'm taking everyone of you with me. Because she is still living in the stone age with dial up Internet, I had to do most of the work for her. But she is now up and running. I hope to see her putting all of my hard work to use and actually doing something with it. I know she went to see Mamma Mia tonight, how about you blog about it, Mom!

After that, my friend Katie brought over her baby so she could go to the stake dance. No Katie is not a teen mom, she just can't resist going to those dances. Its kind of an addiction actually, she should really get some help. Ok, the real reason is that her husband is in the bishopric, so they somehow get suckered into a lot of these kinds of things. Which is fine by me, then I get to hang out with the cutest girl ever!! It really is a win-win situation; Katie gets a break and I get my Bella fix. Chris and I had so much fun with Bella. I wasn't sure how she would do at my house because she is such a home body, but she was so good. She was in such a good mood all night, especially since she was up past her bedtime. I thought she was going to fall asleep at one point, but all of a sudden she got her second wind and was wide awake. I love watching Chris with her. This is one baby that he truly loves and enjoys. They were chillin' watching a movie together. She was even rubbing his belly for him...one of his favorite ways to be pampered. When I see him with Bella, I know he will be such a great dad one day.

So some of these pictures are actually of Chris, which goes against everything that The Dog Blog supports, but I just couldn't resist. They were just too cute not to share with all of you. Plus, Rogue is on my *hit list today. I walked into my room to look for something when all of a sudden I heard a strange noise. When I turned around, I found Rogue pooping on my bedroom floor. What the heck is that all about?!?!? She is a year and a half old already. Shouldn't all of that be out of her system by now? I just don't understand what I did wrong. I really can't complain too much. This is a very rare occurrence with her. Kona on the other hand...you know. I could go on more but I'll save the rest of this rant for another day.

Here is Chris and Bella chatting. And of course we can't forget Bella's baby elephant. This thing will keep her happy for hours. Maybe that's why she was so happy all night.
This is Chris trying to get Bella to smile for the camera. She was all smiles and laughing till the camera came out
Finally a smile!!
Here they are enjoying the movie. No wonder why they get along so well.
They are finally starting to wind down. They were both ready for bed.

World Ventures

A few months ago, my friend Heather Scott started telling me about a travel thing that she had just started and that I needed to check it out. I kept ignoring her for a while and figured that she'd just stop bugging me about it. Finally, she invited me to a travel party at her house. So I decided that I just needed to go to her party and smile and say no thanks just to get her off my back. The whole time leading up to the party, Chris and I kept saying to each other that there was no way that we would be signing up for this. We have started with a few network marketing companies in the past and were left with a bad feeling about them. The time of the party finally came and as we listened to the presentation both Chris and I started getting excited about it. After the presentation was over, we looked to each other and I could tell Chris wanted to sign up but we were both too afraid to admit it. After a few minutes of talking about it, we both decided that we wanted to be World Venture-ers! Even my dad, who I would have never though would sign up for something like this, signed up. We even won a free cruise...well actually my dad won but was very kind to give it to us to enjoy. The more we go to the meetings, the more excited we get. Here is our website...

http://www.christophermcrae.worldventures.biz/

Please check it out and click on the 1, 2 and 3. Or feel free to call or email us and we'll take you to a party or answer any questions that you may have. They raffle off cruises or vacation packages at all of the meetings as an incentive. We would love to have someone come with us on our cruise. I promise there will be no pressure to sign up...Chris and I are so excited about it and just want to share it with others. What better way is there to make money than to make money while you are traveling?!?! Just last week, Chris and I hosted a travel party of our own. Here are a few pictures from it.

Rockband!!

Ever since we got out wii, Chris and I have been waiting for Rockband to come out for it. Well it finally did so we saved up our pennies and we got it this past weekend. It is totally awesome and I feel like thats all we really did this weekend. Our friends Angee and Robby came over to break it in with us and we were ROCKING all night long. It is so fun to watch Chris because he gets so into it. We had a great time playing but I'm sure our neighbors will be happy when we get tired of it.

Here is Chris on the drums...

...and here is Val on guitar

We would be more than happy to have whoever wants to come over and play with us. We need all the practice we can get.

Other events this weekend...On Friday night we went with Laurie, Jen and TJ to see Mamma Mia. It was tons of fun and I loved every minute of it. We saw the play last year with my family and I've been dying to go see it again since then. So I was super excited when I found out they were making a movie. For the past 2 weeks or so, all I've listened to is the soundtrack (thanks to my fabulous mom for buying it for me) and I plan on listening to it for at least a few more days. I highly recommend going to see it!

Thanks Katie!!!!

I just wanted to give a BIG thank you to my friend Katie for helping me start my blog. I couldn't have done it without you.

my first post

This is my first blog, its just a test...so bear with me. My sister in law Jen keeps insisting on me starting a blog so she can blog-stalk me. This is me and my husband Chris. We have been married for 3 years now and are living in Maricopa. I do hair and Chris works for a masonry company. When we aren't busy or working, we mostly like to hang out at home snuggling.
Ready...Set...BLOG!!!
